Dear Cheering Coordinators,
I’d
like to personally invite you and your athletes to the North Parkland Athletic
Association’s “CHEER 2003” Cheerleading Competition.
This event promises to highlight the best of the best in the Lehigh
Valley’s youth cheerleading squads and beyond!
We know you deserve to be among them!
We are very proud to be hosting our competition at Parkland High School
on November 23rd, 2003
in Allentown. We were pleased to
have so many talented competitors last year and look forward to seeing many back
again, as well as some new smiling faces from afar!
We are, as you can imagine, thrilled to be able to have this event at our
beautiful school and are anxious to bring all the spirit these competitions
create, into this one incredible building.
Of course, our cafeteria will be available to enjoy refreshments
throughout the day’s events. We will also have various cheerleading
accessories, videos, t-shirts, programs and other items available to celebrate
the event. There will be shorts,
jewelry and all kinds of novelties just for cheerleading!
Our Parkland High School Cheerleaders and the little Teenie Weenies will
be entertaining the crowds with a fantastic routine they’re performing for
this season. We are also extending
our invitation to area Rec Elite Teams who do not have a team to cheer for to
compete in a division all their own! Plus,
we have many more surprises planned for you!
It promises to be a super event you won’t want to miss!
Once you register your team, we will send you a confirmation packet
containing information on t-shirts, videos, Cheer Cow Grams, and directions.
All you have to do is copy them for your families, hand them out and they
can send everything back to us.
We are sure your families will enjoy pre-ordering these items to save
time on the day of the competition and before we run out of items.
As promised, we have some more great surprises for you! Trophies are awarded to each girl for first, second and third in each division. Our “Spirit Award” will be awarded to the organization in each half, who demonstrates enthusiasm, spirit and courtesy throughout their session. Each girl from the organization who wins the Spirit Award will receive a special award to commemorate her efforts in bringing this award home for her organization. All cheerleaders will receive a participation award, as well.
We will be raffling a basket of goodies for the girls, after their
segment is complete. Each division
has its own themed basket and only those girls in that division can win!
Flowers will also be available to purchase for that special cheerleader,
coach, or team mom!
We ask that flags, 85’s and 95’s report to register at 8:30 a.m.
sharp. The cheerleader’s entrance
is in back of the Athletic wing of our high school, which is on the left if you
enter from Cedar Crest Blvd. We ask
that only registered coaches and all of their cheerleaders and registered
spotters come to this entrance. We
will begin promptly at 9:30. Coaches
should report to the coaches meeting at the end of the registration hallway at
that time.
The squads in the 110,135 and Rec Elite divisions should report to the
same entrance at 2:00. Entry will
not be allowed until that time. Their
performances will begin promptly at 2:30 or as soon as we have everyone
registered. Coaches should report to the coaches meeting at the end of the
registration hallway at that time. Doors to the gym will open for the fans as
soon as the earlier crowds disperse. They
may wait in the cafeteria until then.
Please pre-sell tickets at $5.00 each.
Each girl is guaranteed (4) tickets.
In an effort to make selling tickets easier we have one price for all
seats. Combination tickets for
those families who have a girl in each half, are available for $8.00. Cheerleaders who would like to stay for the portion of the
day they are not participating in DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE A TICKET, BUT MUST
STAY IN UNIFORM! All orders and
money from ticket sales are due by October 21st .
One check from your organization made out to NPAA is
all that we ask you to return with your ticket order sheet.
Tickets will then be sent to you to distribute. A Tally sheet is enclosed
to help you organize your ticket count, but you should keep that with you until
you receive your tickets. We will have a limited number of tickets
available at the door. These seats are on the sides of the gym and have a
viewpoint from the side. These
tickets will be a different color and you will be required to sit in that
section only. These seats are also
$5.00.
Also,
please inform your squads that we will not be able to hang any signs in
the building, but we encourage decorated cars, handheld signs and parents with
their faces painted! Spirit is the
name of the game; so let your colors fly! There
will be a “Nutty Fan” award for the one fan who goes “all out” to
support their favorite team! So let
your families know this is the competition to show their spirit!
Attached is everything you need to register.
Take a careful look over everything.
Although we plan to run this event much like last year, there are a few
changes, so please read over everything carefully, especially the rules.
Please make a special note: We
will be implementing the NFHS safety rules!
Please notify us if you have not been able to obtain these rules!
2003 rules are available at www.NFHS.org.
If there are any questions I can answer for you, please give me a
call. Please return all packets
to me by September 15th. The
first organizations to return their packets will be the last on the floor!
So, it pays to register early! Proof
of grade/age for each girl must be provided the day of competition or your group
will be refused entry. NO
EXCEPTIONS!
Again, thank you for
considering “CHEER 2003” and I look forward to meeting and seeing all of
you!
Cheerfully yours,
Shellie Pany
