The North Parkland Knee-Hi Baseball Team recently wrapped up a very successful 2001 Lehigh Valley Little Baseball League campaign.  The Buffaloes were pitted against 17 other teams from the Lehigh Valley to form a very competitive schedule.  The North Parkland knee-hi team finished the regular season with a very respectable 13-5 record against some very tough competition.  This year's team featured six 13 year old players and nine 14 year old players.

The team's 13-5 record was good enough for a 5th place seed in the post season double elimination tournament.  The first game of the playoffs featured a thrilling game with Hokendauqua who threw perhaps one of the best pitchers in the league.  North Parkland lost the game by a 5-1 margin.  After falling into the losers bracket, the Buffaloes faced another challenge from another excellent pitcher from Moore Township.  A 9-0 defeat eliminated the Buffaloes from the tournament and ended their season with a final mark of 13-7.
Leading the Buffaloes offensive attack were Adam Jaindl with a .479 batting avg., Alex Schmoyer and Jaindl with 17 runs scored, and Jaindl with 23 hits.  Jake Feist, George Horn, and David Moller all chipped in 3 doubles, Horn with 3 triples, and 1 home run each by Feist, Kyle Harmison, Jaindl, and Nathan Wehr.

The pitching staff was anchored by Jake Feist, Ryan Quilling, Kyle Harmison, and David Moller.  Feist led the staff with 41 innings pitched and 64 strikeouts.  Quilling posted a 4-1 record along with a 2.63 ERA.  Harmison recorded a 3-1 record along with 29 innings pitched.  Moller, one of the teams 13 year old players, struck out 20 batters in only 14 innings pitched.

The 2001 Buffaloes have a lot to be proud of.  Not only did they compete at a very high level, they represented our athletic association in a very sportsman-like manner.  This year's knee-hi team was enthusiastic and learned what it takes to be a baseball player at North Parkland.  Congratulations to all of the 2001 knee-hi players on a successful season!
