Trophies will be presented immediately following the conclusion of the final game at the main field. NO PROTESTS will be allowed --- All Umpire's decisions are final!! NO TEAM will be allowed on the field before a game for infield or batting practice. Teams must be present at the field a half hour before game time for pre-game warm-up along sidelines. Flip of coin will determine home team. When playing back-to-back games, tournament officials will confirm starting times of games with both managers. If playing at a field other than the main field, the winning manager must report the score and winning team at the main field. JUNIOR LEGION rules (players cannot be 16 before August 1) will apply throughout the tournament with the exception of the ten run rule. The ten run rule considers a game to be completed if anytime after 4 1/2 innings the home team gains a ten run lead or after the conclusion of either the 5th or 6th inning the visiting team has a ten run lead. The Pitching Rule, as outlined in the 2003 Pennsylvania Baseball Guide book, will be strictly adhered to in this tournament. If in the event that a team has entered all of its substitutes and then one of its players can not continue the game because of injury or ejection, the coach can re-enter one of his other players without punishment. We do this to encourage coaches to use all of their players. Teams may use an extra hitter (EH) in their lineup if they wish. It is optional; however, if you start a game with an EH you need to finish with one. Regarding lineup changes, the extra hitter is to be treated just like any other fielding position. For example, you can switch your shortstop to EH and your EH to shortstop as long as they remain in their original batting order. Fake tags will not be tolerated! Ground rules will be explained prior to the game with umpires, team managers, captains, and co-captains. Complete understanding by all participants is necessary to avoid disputes during the course of games. In the event of a dispute, umpires' decisions are final. Championship will be decided by the team with best overall record. a. In the event of a two-way tie for the championship or runner-up position, the position will be determined by the team that won the game when the two teams played each other. b. In the event of a three way tie or four way tie for either the championship or the runner-up position, the participants will flip a coin to determine who plays whom and the winners will be the team that won the game when the two teams previously played. (Example: Three way tie A, B, and C. All three flip coins until two coins are the same. If A and B both have heads and C has tails. The team that won when A and B played advances to play C. The team that won that match-up will be the winner.) In no instances will there be any additional games played. Each team must supply its own equipment -- balls will be supplied by the tournament committee. Teams are asked to help chase any foul balls on their side of the field during their games. Since the tournament is played on school grounds please advise parents that alcohol and tobacco use is prohibited as is tailgating in the parking lots. There is a refreshment stand on the premises as well as several local eateries. It is hoped that all team managers and team members will conduct themselves with good sportsmanship. It is the endeavor of this tournament to provide good will for all participants. The number one priority is to make the experience a positive experience. Good Luck to all teams!!!
