North Parkland's Junior Legion Baseball Team won the Lehigh Valley League Championship and finished second in the State with a record of 31-7. The Buffaloes finished the regular season with a 19-1 record and then swept the five league playoff games for the championship. By winning the league playoffs, the Buffaloes represented the league in the Eastern Pennsylvania Regional in Spring City which featured nine other teams from Eastern PA including seven other league champions. In the regional, the Buffaloes qualified for the State Championships in Indiana County by winning their first two games of the tournament. In Indiana, North Parkland competed against the top three teams from the East and the four teams from the West. After winning three of the first four games in states, the Buffaloes faced the Boyertown Bear Cubs in the State Championship. In a well-played game, Boyertown prevailed 4-1 leaving the Buffaloes a well-deserved second place in the State which features over 150 Junior Legion programs. This is the second time the Buffaloes were State Runners-up, the first time being in 1980 when the team was coached by Mike Stoudt. In addition to good baseball, the tournament committee in Indiana provided lodging, food and entertainment to make the week even more enjoyable. To cap off the season, North Parkland's Chris Richards was awarded the tournament's Sportsmanship Award. Congratulations Chris!!!
